It was an incredible end of 2022 for our Muay Thai program…

  • Raequaun Turner was razor sharp and Atef Ben Said knocked out his opponent at the Thai Championship Boxing fights.
  • Manny Thompson wins MMA gold and Jeremy Lafreniere is awarded “Coach of the Year” at CageZilla.
  • Josh Hurst claimed his first title at Mix-It Up Sports.
  • Angel Lopez went to Chicago to take on a killer opponent at Maximus Muay Thai, becoming the lightweight champion.
  • Amine “The Lion” Ballafrikh captures the world championship title at Freedom Fighter Promotions in NYC. He also got engaged!

Ultimately 2022 brought us nine championships — 8 national titles and 1 professional international title. According to WKA, Capital MMA currently ranks number 5 in the United States.

Now that the ball has dropped on 2023, Harold “The Pride of Ecuador” Riera is in a training camp to defend his USA Championship title in NYC on January 28th at Freedom Fighter Promotions. Inez Jruequi is then fighting on February 11th in Canada for the North American title. On March 4th the Alexandria, VA location is hosting a HUGE Muay Thai community event. Details coming soon!
